The 10th RussiaAzerbaijan Interregional Forum
will be held in Moscow on 2223 November. The event will be organized by the
Russian Ministry of Economic Development together with the Azerbaijani Ministry
of Economy with the assistance of the Roscongress Foundation.
The RussiaAzerbaijan Interregional Forum is a
unique platform for dialogue. The Forums business programme will open on 22
November with an address by Russian Minister of Economic Development Maxim
Oreshkin and Azerbaijani Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov. The business
programme includes an expanded meeting of the RussiaAzerbaijan and AzerbaijanRussia
business councils as well as four roundtables on expanding business cooperation
between the regions in such areas as transport infrastructure, agriculture,
tourism, and humanitarian affairs.
«The RussiaAzerbaijan Interregional Forum will
build on the series of events that aim to develop relations between Russia and
its neighbouring republics: Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan,
Armenia, and Abkhazia. The main goal is to create conditions for free
interaction between government and business representatives of the two states»,
Adviser to the Russian President Anton Kobyakov said.
The Forums plenary session at the Cosmonautics
and Aviation Centre at the All-Russian Exhibition Centre (VDNH) will be chaired
by the Russian Federation Council Chairwoman Valentina Matvienko and
Azerbaijani First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva.
«The high level of interaction
that our countries have achieved is a merit not only to the active joint work
carried out by specialized departments, but also to the crucial efforts of the
business community, which is actively involved in solving current problems and
identifying promising areas for collaboration. Russia and Azerbaijan seek to
continue the policy of diversifying our economies and create an integrated
system of cooperation in the agricultural sector. Our countries face ambitious
goals in the transport sector and the modernization of technology. Active work
is underway to increase tourism flows and mutual visits. We continue to expand
cultural and humanitarian cooperation», Oreshkin said.
In 2018, the Forum brought
together more than a thousand representatives of the Russian and Azerbaijani
government authorities, public organizations, business community, educational
and scientific institutions, and the media. Seventeen agreements were signed
during the Forum.
