The fourth international forum ‘Russia and Iberoamerica in the Global World: History and Modernity’ will take place on 13 October 2019 in St. Petersburg. The Forum is the largest event in Russia involving experts on Latin America, Spain, and Portugal and one of the most representative in the world. The meetings at the Forum will focus on socio-political and economic processes in Latin America, its history and culture, prospects for Russian-Latin American cooperation, and the involvement of countries of the region in international relations.

The Forum is being organized by St. Petersburg State University, the Institute of Latin America of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Bering-Bellingshausen Institute for the Americas (Montevideo, Uruguay), and the Roscongress Foundation. The event is being supported by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Santander Bank, the Regional Coordinator of Economic and Social Research (CRIES), the Latin American Council for Social Sciences (CLACSO), the Mexican Political Science Association (AMECIP), and Icesi University, Colombia.

“The Forum ‘Russia and Iberoamerica in the Global World: History and Modernity’ is a contemporary communications platform used to determine Latin America’s development prospects for a multipolar world. We are seeing steady growth in Latin American representatives’ interest in the Foundation’s projects as well as the extent of their participation in our activities. As a co-organizer of the Forum, the Roscongress Foundation plays an important role by strengthening international cooperation in science and business”, Roscongress Foundation CEO and Chairman of the Board Alexander Stuglev said.

Prominent politicians, scientists, and journalists always take part in the Forum, which makes it a particularly important event as a discussion platform on Iberoamerican issues.
