On 1617 September 2019 with the support of the Roscongress
Foundation, a delegation
of the Russian regions will visit Finland.
Participation in this event will allow representatives of the Russian
regions to study Finnish cutting-edge techniques of circular economy in such
sectors as waste management and renewable energy. It is also planned to discuss
the prospects of bilateral cooperation in these industries, considering the
needs of the Russian regions.
«An active business dialogue has long been going on between Russia and
Finland. It is supported by traditional top and high-level meetings that
regularly take place as part of the St. Petersburg International Economic
Forum, the International Arctic Forum and the events of the Arctic Council.
Finland is a pioneer of economy that is based on resource recovery and
ecosystem conservation, while technical solutions used for this are
science-intensive, rational, profitable and, importantly, adapted to our
climate. I am sure that the Finnish-Russian technology seminar, which will take
place as part of the visit, will open new vistas for joint initiatives and
attracting investment to Russian regions, as well as promote creation of new
strategic projects that reduce man-made impact on the environment,» noted Advisor to the President
of the Russian Federation Anton Kobyakov.
In addition to the Finnish-Russian technology seminar that will take place
in a business dialogue format, one of the central events of the two-day
business programme will be a presentation of the
investment potential of Russias regions in Finland.
In the course of the visit, the delegations of the Russian regions will
visit the energy company Fortum, the Viikinmäki wastewater treatment plant, the
manufacturer of automated solid waste collection systems and vacuum conveying
systems MariMatic in Helsinki, Lassila & Tikanoja waste center and others.
The event is organized by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment of Finland, Business
Finland, the Trade Mission of the Russian Federation in Finland and the
Finnish-Russian Chamber of Commerce, with the support of the Embassy of the
Russian Federation, the Roscongress Foundation, the Embassy of Finland in
Moscow, the East Office of Finnish Industries and the Ministry for Environment
of Finland and the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland.
