Advisor to the Russian President Anton Kobyakov held a meeting with Uzbek Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Sardor Umurzakov at the Global Manufacturing and Industrialisation Summit (GMIS 2019) in Yekaterinburg. The two officials discussed cooperation on preparing for and holding international business events and a SPIEF visiting session in Tashkent as well as the opening of a project office to consider investment and export projects.
«As part of our cooperation, we propose fully synchronising the Forum in Tashkent with the agenda of the Roscongress Foundation’s key events, including the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. I am certain that this collaboration will enable us to intensify trade and economic cooperation between our countries», Kobyakov said.
In particular, a proposal was made at the meeting for the business programme of the Tashkent Forum to include a SPIEF visiting session with the extensive involvement of leading representatives of Russian business. The officials also discussed the possibility of holding a Russia-Uzbekistan roundtable at the SPIEF.
In addition, Kobyakov and Umurzakov mulled the possibility of the Roscongress Foundation taking part in preparations for the SCO Summit in Samarkand in 2022.
