Denis Manturov briefs Vladimir Putin on preparations for GMIS 2019

11 June 2019
Денис Мантуров доложил Владимиру Путину о ходе подготовке к GMIS-2019

The upcoming Global Manufacturing and Industrialisation Summit (GMIS 2019) was discussed at a working meeting held recently between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov. The event is set to take place in July in Yekaterinburg.

Manturov spoke of the support the President had previously shown for hosting GMIS 2019, which will, he said, be dedicated to «nature-inspired technologies and finding a balance between biological and technological areas.»

«You touched upon this issue when you spoke in 2015 at the 70th UN General Assembly, and since then these issues have become even more pressing. There is a discussion on this topic in the global business community, between ministries and government agencies. This issue lies at the confluence of the economy and industry. We hope that you will find the time and attend these events this year,» Manturov said.

Vladimir Putin responded that he would try to do so.

The Global Manufacturing and Industrialisation Summit (GMIS) is the world’s first forum seeking to establish a global manufacturing strategy, facilitate the sharing of best practices, and provide a place for dialogue. The decisions taken at the event will help shape the future of manufacturing and support transformative ideas aimed at achieving sustainable industrial development across all areas. In bringing together all relevant stakeholders, GMIS aims to create a global consensus on the most crucial issues related to manufacturing.
