Theofficial magazine of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2019 has been released. The publication by the Roscongress
Foundation covers a range of topics which will be discussed at the main
business event of the year on 6–8 June.
The content of the magazine centres heavily around the
main theme of the Forum: Creating a Sustainable Development Agenda. It covers
the creation of transport corridors to support international trade, cyber
security in an era of digitalization, strategies for entering global markets,
and new technology, together with ways it will shape the jobs of the future.
“We view SPIEF
Magazine as a way of starting a discussion – one which will evolve
substantially over the course of the Forum. In time, we expect this dialogue to
translate into new partnerships in the international business community, as
well as specific agreements and projects,” said Advisor to the President of the
Russian Federation Anton Kobyakov.
The design of the magazine is influenced by Palekh
folk painting, reflecting the rich cultural and historical heritage that Russia
has shared with the world.
An extraordinary artist from the village of Palekh
explains what it means to combine tradition with modernity. Elsewhere, the
highlight of the magazine’s entertainment section is an eye-catching interview
with Sergey Shnurov, frontman of pop group Leningrad, as he prepares to perform
for guests at the official reception hosted by the SPIEF Organizing Committee.
St. Petersburg naturally features prominently as the
city hosting the Forum. The magazine explores some of the city’s most popular
tourist routes and unusual restaurants, and there is also an article about an
ambitious plan to turn Kronstadt into the largest museum island in the world.
As with other Roscongress Foundation publications,
issues related to social policy come under the spotlight. A host of renowned
experts and practitioners explore how the Russian and international business
sectors regard social responsibility, why corporate volunteering is crucial,
and whether regional cities can realistically be transformed into cultural and
festival centres. Readers will also be able to find out about upcoming
initiatives by the Innosocium Foundation for the Promotion of Social
Development, which was established in 2019 as part of the Roscongress
Foundation.
The magazine is published in both Russian and English.
Copies will be available at the Forum venue, on Aeroflot flights, and a number
of trains running from Moscow to St. Petersburg. An electronic version of the
magazine is available on the official SPIEF website and the ROSCONGRESS.ORG
Information and Analytical System.
