The First Day of the 7th Conference on Interregional Cooperation Between Russia and Tajikistan Concludes

On 16 April, the World Trade Center hosted the 7th Conference on Interregional Cooperation between Russia and Tajikistan. The organizers were the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan with the support of the Roscongress Foundation. The first day of the Conference included several roundtables on issues of cooperation between countries in agriculture, logistics, trade, education and culture. For the first time, the Conference hosted a youth forum organized by the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs.

«Cooperation with the countries of Central Asia is one of the priorities of the international operations of Rosmolodezh. We approve the high class of a bilateral Youth Forum, which for the first time takes place at the Conference on Interregional Cooperation between Russia and Tajikistan. The level of the Forum emphasizes the high status of the Tajik delegation under the leadership of the Chairman of the Committee for Youth and Sports Affairs under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan Mr Abdullozoda. It’s worth noting that during the visit of Tajik delegation to Moscow a number of bilateral documents between the governments and public service organizations are expected to be signed. We hope these documents will serve as an additional stimulus to promote youth bilateral relationships between our countries,» said Alexander Bugaev, Head of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs, at the opening of the Forum. The Chairman of the Committee for Youth and Sports Affairs under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan Mr Akhtam Rustam Abdullozoda emphasized that the states have close fraternal ties, a long-term friendship of peoples and cultural co-heritage. «I am confident that today’s Forum is a remarkable example of the on-going development of Russia—Tajikistan youth initiatives and is to spark the mutual interest of young people in strengthening the partnership and meaningful dialogue for many generations to come,» he said.

Fostering international youth cooperation, the All-Russian Public Organization Russian Union of Youth and the Public Organization Youth Union of Tajikistan signing of the Memorandum of understanding in the sphere of working with young people took place at the Russia—Tajikistan Youth Forum ‘The Shared Path to the Economy of the Future’.

Director of the EurAsEC Institute Vladimir Lepekhin and Chairman of the State Committee on Investments and State Property Management of Tajikistan Farrukh Hamralizoda moderated the roundtable ‘Cooperation in Agriculture, Logistics, Industry, Investment and Trade’. The key discussion topics were the supply of Russian agricultural equipment, the dynamics of the Tajik food industry and Russian investors’ potential there, the development of a wholesale distribution network, the integration of digital state and municipal management, industrial cooperation, the setting up of cooperation chains between Russian and Tajik enterprises, as well as prospects for the development of basalt composite industry in the Republic of Tajikistan.

The second roundtable of the first day of the Conference was on the cooperation in education and culture; moderators were Rector of the Pushkin State Institute of the Russian Language Margarita Rusetskaya and Minister of Education and science of the Republic of Tajikistan Mr. Said Nuriddin. Participants discussed supporting the Russian language as the language of education, science and business, cultural and humanitarian cooperation, as well as student exchange programmes.

The Youth Forum discussion platforms covered three sections Youth Tourism, Youth Entrepreneurship and Transforming the World, Preserving the Memory, in each of which the participants discussed ways of developing bilateral cooperation and implementing joint projects. The Youth Forum final session presented discussion groups projects.
