Правительство Москвы и Национальное конгресс-бюро начали деловое сотрудничество

The Moscow Government and the Russian Convention Bureau have signed an agreement on cooperation in developing the capital’s convention and exhibition industry. The agreement was signed on 15 October at the 7th International Open Innovations Forum at Skolkovo Technopark.

The agreement’s main goal is to work together to develop Moscow’s potential for arranging various events: organizing and holding events at the international and national levels, promoting the city’s infrastructure capabilities at the global level, and strengthening its position as an international business centre.

The agreement was signed by Alexei Fursin, Head of the Department of Entrepreneurship and Innovative Development of the City of Moscow, and Aleksei Kalachev, Director of the Russian Convention Bureau.

«With regard to Moscow, conventions and exhibitions have long proved their viability in terms of product promotion, as well as positioning the Russian capital as an active participant in international economic activity. Implementing the agreement will enable the number of major business events held in the city to increase, creating a comfortable environment for attracting respected international conventions to Moscow, including in the high-tech industry, innovation, and entrepreneurship,» said Alexei Fursin.

Anton Kobyakov, adviser to the President of the Russian Federation, said: «Holding conventions helps to expand the boundaries of international business and scientific cooperation, and also promotes the integration of specialists from Russia, and Moscow, into the world community. Naturally, Moscow has enormous opportunities to host the largest and most authoritative conferences. And the Russian Convention Bureau already has the first results on attracting international events to the capital. So, for example, in 2020, for the first time in Russia, Moscow hosted a conference of the International Planning History Society (IPHS), the application for which was approved thanks to collaboration between the Russian Convention Bureau and the Concord company, with the support of the Roscongress Foundation.»

«Moscow is a key region on the event map of Russia. The capital has unique experience in conducting international business events, as well as developed infrastructure and expertise in the event industry. Together with the Moscow Government, we will focus on developing the capital’s event industry and attracting as many business events to the city’s venues as possible,» added Aleksei Kalachev, director of the Russian Convention Bureau.
