On 6 September 2018, the Roscongress Foundation and Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry signed a cooperation agreement during the visit to Russia of Nguyen Phu Trong, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. The Chairman of the board, CEO of the Roscongress Foundation Alexander Stuglev and the president of the VCCI Vu Tien Loc, signed the document.
The agreement aims to develop economic cooperation and expanding trade ties between the two countries.
«The signed document is essential to the development of efficient communication between the professional communities and business circles of the Russian Federation and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in the context of a comprehensive strategic partnership between our countries, especially after signing a free trade agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union and Vietnam,» noted Alexander Stuglev.
In particular, the parties plan to join efforts in searching and establishing contacts between representatives of the business community of the two countries, organization of joint bilateral and multilateral events, including forums, conferences, roundtables, business seminars, exhibitions, sales, lectures, and also cooperate in investments, finance, export and import, tourism and culture, information exchange, consulting and peer learning.
A roadmap was developed to enhance the efficiency of interaction between the parties. This roadmap defines a list of events for 2018–2020, including the Eastern Economic Forum 2018, the Vietnam Business Summit, the Russian Energy Week 2018, the Russian—Vietnamese Intergovernmental Commission, the forum of innovative financial technologies FINOPOLIS 2018, the Russian Investment Forum 2019, the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2019, Vietnam and Russia Cross Year 2019 and others.
