A list of key speakers for the Second Eurasian Womens Forum has been published on the events official website. The Forum is set to take place in St. Petersburg on 1921 September 2018.
The Forum will be attended by female parliamentarians, heads of charitable projects, leading figures in the international womens movement, as well as representatives of government bodies, international organizations, the business sector, the scientific community, and public organizations from more than 100 countries. Among the participants will be Nguyễn Thị Kim Ngân, Chair of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; Liliane Maury Pasquier, President of PACE; Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka, Executive Director of UN Women and United Nations Under-Secretary-General; Fatma Samoura, Secretary General of FIFA; Gülden Türktan, Founding President of the W20; Dariga Nazarbayeva, Chairman of the Committee on International Relations, Defence And Security of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan; and Fatou Haidara, Managing Director of Policy and Programme Support at UNIDO.
The Second Eurasian Womens Forum is being organized by the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and the Interparliamentary Assembly of Member Nations of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
The main events of the Forum will take place at Tavricheskiy Palace. Central amongst these will be the plenary session chaired by Speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko, entitled Women for Global Security and Sustainable Development. The Forum programme encompasses over 40 events, including business sessions, panel discussions, business dialogues, thematic business breakfasts, and expert and strategic sessions.
The Roscongress Foundation is the operator of the Forum. In line with an order issued by the Government of the Russian Federation, the foundation was appointed the sole services provider of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation for the organization and running of the event.
