The Global Energy Association has prolongated the deadline for the submission of applications to the international contest Energy of Words. September 22, 2022 has been announced as the new final date. The competition aims to encourage reporters, columnists, and experts covering the most burning issues of todays energy industry, including the transformation of the global energy balance, development of new technologies, and climate change. The winners will be announced and awarded in a ceremony that will take place as part of the forum Russian Energy Week, which will be held from October 12 to 14, 2022. The Forum is organized by the Roscongress Foundation and the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation with support from the Government of Moscow.
Competition winners will be declared in the following categories:
The best article on energy in federal press;
The best article on energy in regional press;
The best article on energy from a news agency;
The best Telegram channel or energy blog;
The best energy news story for television;
The best media office in energy industry;
The best piece on energy from BRICS and SCO countries.
Only pieces that were released or published in the media on or after January 1, 2021 are eligible for the Contest; co-authored works and other collaborations are also welcome. The following formats are eligible for the Contest: articles published online or in printed media; analytical reviews; items describing the authors (authors) independent research; interviews; TV spots, including those released online; special reports and projects of news agencies; recorded podcasts.
«An important role in the development of the energy sector of today is played not only by scientists who discover new applications for fossil fuels and renewable energy sources, but also by journalists and experts who cover the most urgent issues of the industrys contemporary evolution. This is especially relevant now, amidst high turbulence across energy markets,» said Sergey Brilev, President of the Global Energy Association.
A panel of judges will evaluate the submissions according to a number of preset criteria, including relevance, uniqueness, accuracy of the facts communicated in the piece, and substantive depth of the work.
