The World Franchise Council (WFC) officially opened on 28 May. The Council meeting is one of the central events of the World Franchise Forum, which will be held in Moscow for the first time from 30 May to 1 June.

The event participants, including representatives of more than 30 national industry associations, were greeted by President of the Russian Franchise Association (RAF) Agnessa Osipova. She noted that a lot of work has been carried out to organize and meet all the members of international delegations and engage with speakers and newsmakers at the events of the World Franchise Forum and Expo. “A lot of work still needs to be done during the Forum to present the industry to the world and the Russian public in the best way possible. We know that the Forum will be productive, interesting, and intensive,” Ms. Osipova said.

WFC Secretary General Hatem Zaki was the next person to address the audience. He thanked the heads of the associations from different countries for their seamless cooperation and for the work they performed to strengthen the role of franchises in enhancing and developing entrepreneurship.

The agenda for the two-day Council event includes breakout sessions, round tables, and discussions on strengthening the WFC’s role in coordinating the international development of franchises, analysing the development of global and national chains, promoting franchises around the world, and new legislative initiatives in different countries.

The WFC delegates will take part in the largest event in the industry – the World Franchise Forum and World Franchise Expo 2018, which are being held under the auspices of Moscow Entrepreneurship Week and jointly organized by the Russian Franchise Association and the Roscongress Foundation.

Participation is free of charge for delegates and visitors to the forum and expo.
