“Master of Taiga. Message of the Children’s Cultural Forum”

A children’s art contest “Master of Taiga. Message of the Children’s Cultural Forum” will take place on 5 September on the campus of the Far Eastern Federal University in Vladivostok as part of the 2nd International Tiger Forum.

The Children’s Cultural Forum was held on 25–27 August with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation. The Forum is aimed at developing and strengthening creative connections, introducing children to Russian and world cultural achievements, supporting creatively gifted children, and promoting the national historical and cultural heritage. More than 1,500 talented children aged 12 to 17 from all the Russian regions and from other countries took part in the contest. The Forum hosted a mega master class entitled ‘The Amur Tiger was organized under the guidance of leading representatives of national art schools. At the end of the master class, delegations from all the regions of Russia and foreign countries created paintings depicting tigers. Some of these paintings will be included in an exhibition to be presented at the 2nd International Tiger Forum.

“The creation of works depicting the tiger by talented children from Russia and other countries is a way to attract the attention of the international community to environmental issues, the protection of the unique predator, and the Far East as its habitat. Through the prism of the Forum, we can see how the young artists see our world today and it is through their eyes that we will be seen by future generations. Our goal is to preserve the richness and diversity of the animal world of our planet for them,” said Igor Pavlov, Deputy CEO of the Roscongress Foundation, Director of the Eastern Economic Forum, and Director of the 2nd International Tiger Forum.

The Tiger Forum is organized by the Roscongress Foundation, the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation, and the Amur Tiger Centre. The strategic partner of the Tiger Forum is Rosseti.
