The Russian Ecological
Operator, together with the Roscongress Foundation and the Content Foundation,
will hold a project competition among young people as part of EEF Junior Forum
from 5 to 8 September in Vladivostok. Entries will include environmental initiatives
in sustainable development, as well as projects for shaping the proper
management of solid municipal waste (SMW). For example, participants will have
to come up with an image of our countrys green cities.
«The Eastern Economic Forum
will have a whole platform for the younger generation EEF Junior. It will
hold a competition to find promising and innovative projects aimed at forming
conscious consumption, new behavioural models, and the right management of SMW.
We are confident that participants will demonstrate new solutions for
organizing socially important events that will help shape environment friendly behaviours
and traditions, as well as learn about modern ways to manage SMW and
recycling,» said Denis Butsaev, General Director of the Russian Ecological
Operator.
Individual projects are
accepted in three categories: Technological and Digital Projects, Private
Eco-Initiatives, and Ecology-Art. The first nomination considers projects
related to services and solutions based on digital technologies: software,
integrated automation solutions, as well as any smart devices, sensors, etc.
The second category includes projects aimed at formation of conscious
consumption, new behaviour model and proper treatment of SMW. The third one
includes projects aimed at shaping the image of green cities and settlements in
our country: public spaces, iconic places using recycled materials.
«We believe that even small
deeds can make a big difference. This is why projects of any scale are accepted
for consideration. With their competitive work the participants may offer new
solutions, make proposals on environmental protection and popularization of
separate collection of solid waste in the spheres of economy and life, creative
approaches to organization and holding of socially significant events of
environmental agenda of Russia, its regions and towns/villages with integration
of the topic of separate collection of solid waste and popularization of
environment friendly lifestyle,» said Dmitry Boyko, Head of PR department.
The competition is held in
age groups of 1416 and 1718. The winners will be awarded diplomas and
commemorative prizes from the organizers and partners at the Eastern Economic
Forum on 58 September.
