Матч сборных России и Азии по боксу состоится на ВЭФ-2022

Russian and Asian national teams will hold a boxing match on 7 September in Vladivostok as part of the sports and entertainment programme of the Eastern Economic Forum 2022 (EEF 2022). The Russian team will be led by Tokyo Olympics 2020 silver medallist and world champion Muslim Gadzhimagomedov. The Asian team will include boxers from India, Mongolia, Thailand, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan. The most prominent member of the Asian national team will be Asian Games and Asian Boxing Champions winner Baatarsükhiin Chinzorig from Mongolia.

«The boxers spent the final stage of preparations for Tokyo 2020 in Vladivostok, and now they are returning to the Far East with a new spectacular tournament and huge plans. Most of the boxers on both teams have won youth world championships in recent years. So the showdown in Vladivostok could be described as a preview of potential heroes of the 2024 Olympics. At the EEF 2022, we also plan to discuss the establishment of boxing centres in the Far East, the implementation of the Boxing in Schools programme in the region, as well as other sports and social projects,» Russian Boxing Federation Secretary General Tatyana Kiriyenko said.

Boxers in the match between the Russian and Asian national teams:

The fights will take place in a format of four three-minute rounds each. The showdown between the Russian and Asian national boxing teams will be hosted by the renovated Arena Sport complex.
