Russian
and Asian national teams will hold a boxing match on 7 September in Vladivostok
as part of the sports and entertainment programme of the Eastern Economic Forum
2022 (EEF 2022). The Russian team will be led by Tokyo Olympics 2020 silver medallist
and world champion Muslim Gadzhimagomedov. The Asian team will include boxers
from India, Mongolia, Thailand, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan. The most prominent
member of the Asian national team will be Asian Games and Asian Boxing
Champions winner Baatarsükhiin Chinzorig from Mongolia.
«The boxers spent the final stage of preparations for Tokyo 2020 in Vladivostok, and now they are returning to the Far East with a new spectacular tournament and huge plans. Most of the boxers on both teams have won youth world championships in recent years. So the showdown in Vladivostok could be described as a preview of potential heroes of the 2024 Olympics. At the EEF 2022, we also plan to discuss the establishment of boxing centres in the Far East, the implementation of the Boxing in Schools programme in the region, as well as other sports and social projects,» Russian Boxing Federation Secretary General Tatyana Kiriyenko said.

67 kg weight class: Hikmet
Garayev vs Baatarsükhiin Chinzorig (Mongolia)
72 kg weight class:
Ivan Stupin vs Amandeep Singh (India)
90 kg weight class:
Muslim Gadzhimagomedov vs Sagyndyk Toganbay (Kazakhstan)
90+ kg weight class: Alexey Dronov vs Jahongir Zokirov (Uzbekistan)
The fights
will take place in a format of four three-minute rounds each. The showdown
between the Russian and Asian national boxing teams will be hosted by the
renovated Arena Sport complex.
EEF 2022
participants will also be able to watch the stare down between the leading
Russian and Asian boxers on 6 September on the stage of the Far East Street
exhibition.
The sports
and entertainment programme of the 7th EEF will be held under the
Vladivostok Open brand and will feature events in 12 sports. Vladivostok Open
is operated by RC-Sport, the sports platform of the Roscongress Foundation.
