The official website of the Sustainable Future discussion and communication platform has published its business programme, held as part of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
The business programme discussions will address topical issues of the sustainable development agenda, such as the mineral resource backbone of the new economy, global challenges, opportunities, business efforts to address social issues, and corporate priorities in the new environment.
"Corporate social performance, effective transparent management and a commitment to environmental preservation are the common goals of both business and government, as they strive to achieve sustainable development goals. That is why we have decided to launch the Sustainable Future platform, which will help consolidate the efforts of the state, business and expert community. It will help to promote the country's transition to sustainable economic development with a focus on addressing environmental challenges, the well-being of society and long-term prosperity. The SPIEF platform will make it possible to accomplish this task at the highest level," said Elena Sokolova, Director of the Content Foundation.
The Sustainable Future platform will also host a number of sessions in the main SPIEF business programme, with prominent experts discussing the creation of a national green standard, as well as water conservation and regulation.
"Issues of ecology and environmental conservation have become very important. We must restore the balance of ecosystems, otherwise it will become more and more difficult to cope with natural disasters every year. A sustainable future needs to be built today, and the eponymous platform at SPIEF aims to bring all stakeholders together," said Dmitry Kobylkin, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Ecology, Natural Resources and Environmental Protection.
The business programme sessions will be supported by the Roscongress Foundation, the State Duma Committee on Ecology, Natural Resources and Environmental Protection, and JSC INK-Capital (INK Group).
Sustainable Future is an international discussion and communication platform created by the Content Foundation to bring together representatives of government, corporations and expert communities to find practical solutions to key issues of sustainable development in Russia and around the world.
