SPIEF Sport Week, the sport programme of the 25th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum kicked off on 4 June with the Radio Monte Carlo Golf Cup held at Agalarov Golf & Country Club. The golf tournament venue combined sport, music,and business sessions, bringing together leading experts in the tourism, finance, real estate, and experience industries, as well as pop stars interested in the evolution of the music industry in Russia. The event was supported by the Roscongress Foundation and the RRCC Business Club.
Alexander Zhukov, First Deputy Speaker of the State Duma, Olympic champions, ice hockey players Alexander Mogilny and Alexey Kovalev and ice skater Nikolay Gulyaev, and also other successful business people from a variety of industries took part in the Radio Monte Carlo Golf Cup tournament, which kicked off SPIEF Sport Week, the sport programme of SPIEF 2022.
As part of the discussion programme, Alexander Zhukov, First Deputy Speaker of the State Duma and Andrey Reut, First Deputy CEO of the Roscongress Foundation spoke about the upcoming SPIEF 2022. "The anniversary of the Forum will beextremely important in terms of making serious big decisions which will determine our lives in the coming years," Andrey Reut stressed. He also noted that the exhibition area at SPIEF 2022 was extended from 86,000 to 102,000 square meters. "There will be many guests at the Forum from abroad, and this already speaks for itself," Alexander Zhukov said.
Alexey Tsydenov, Head of the Republic of Buryatia, made a presentation on the potential of the region as a tourist destination at the "Golf, Sailing and Music Tourism as Drivers of Territorial Development" business session. "We are actively developing winter tourism in Baikal. In January, we held the first ice-golf tournament for tour operators. And in February 2023, to mark the 100th anniversary of Buryatia, we plan to hold an international ice-golf tournament on the lake. The unique Baikal Mile Ice Speed Festival is also held on the lake. In addition to Baikal, we have other destinations. Since 2009, the Voice of Nomads international festival has been staged annually in Buryatia. Each time it is visited by over 10,000 spectators. Besides that, Myriad other major sport, cultural and recreational events are also held in the republic, and they all help drive the growth of tourism in the region," Alexey Tsydenov said.
Alexey Shimko, Minister of Tourism for the Moscow region, Denis Zabolotny, General Director of the Abrau-Durso Tourism Centre, Anna Ovchinnikova, Expert in Sports Premium Tourism, Boris Boltyansky, President of the Business Yacht Club, Founder the Business Sailing Club Championship, and Tatiana Moiseeva, Executive Director of the National Sailing League also took part in a discussion on how major sport and music events in the regions can drive the growth of tourism.
In another business session "Russian Media Group: Creative & Business.” The Experience Economy: Finance, Real Estate and a Healthy Lifestyle", the focus was on the financial sector and real estate. Special attention was also paid to the experience economy and to what degree emotions and the entertainment industry can help promote products and services and how they impact brand building and communication with the audience. Emin Agalarov, First Vice President of Crocus Group, Co-founder of the Reputation Business Forum, Dilshod Ibragimov, Growth Director of Tinkoff Private, Nadezhda Lysenko, Advisor to the MTS President on Social and Cultural Issues, Founder of the National Association for Culture, Sport and Beauty, Leader of the Successful Woman project, Nikolay Pryanishnikov, CEO of the World Class Fitness Operator and UFC Gym Russia, Alexey Bakhterov, President of Media Instinct Group, and Diana Nilipovskaya, Sales Director at Pioneer Group all took part in the session.
Dmitry Mednikov, Managing Director of Russian Media Group, moderated the both discussions. "Today Russian Media Group is focused on enhancing cross-sector collaboration. We have created a platform where industries can connect and discuss all sorts of topics in a friendly atmosphere, no matter how controversial, and we hope that this will help drivebusiness processes in Russia," Dmitry Mednikov said.
It should be mentioned that one more golf tournament called Roscongress Golf Cup will be held as part of SPIEF Sport Week on 18 June at Peterhof Golf Club in St. Petersburg.
