Первое киберкафе с человекоподобным роботом-кассиром представят на ПМЭФ

The robot cashier looks like a supermodel and can dispense coffee, ice cream and drinks using its special manipulator arms

The first cybercafé with a humanoid robot cashier is set to be showcased at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum from 15–18 June 2022, as part of the Roscongress Foundation’s Innovation Space project, aimed at supporting Russian high-tech companies and bringing together the innovations of major corporations, leading university incubators, accelerators and independent start-ups.

The Dunyasha Cybercafé project was developed by Promobot, a Russian autonomous service robot manufacturer, alongside the inventor behind the idea Robin Hood Robotics. The robotic complex comprises a counter, a self-service terminal, a coffee machine, a freezer for making soft ice cream, a carbonated drinks maker, and robotic manipulator arms for serving the ice cream and drinks to customers. Communication with customers is through a humanoid robot cashier with hyper-realistic supermodel looks.

«SPIEF is an excellent opportunity for showcasing new, bold ideas, and the Innovation Space project traditionally held as part of the Forum presents the most ground-breaking solutions in the high-tech and digitalization arena. Visitors will be able to see and test many promising developments at the venue. The cybercafé is, of course, one of the most interesting. The project successfully combines an excellent business idea, technological potential and the interactive aspect that people like so much,» Roscongress Board Chair and CEO Alexander Stuglev noted.

«There’s currently an active demand on the market for automated solutions in catering, which is why we developed this project with Promobot and opened Robin Hood Robotics to promote cybercafés on the market. Our solution supports the entire customer service cycle: from the attraction of customers to the serving of orders, whilst the interaction with a humanoid robot that looks like a supermodel means that you won’t get bored while you’re waiting for your order, and will ensure repeat sales,» says Rashid Gabdullin, the founder of Robin Hood Robotics.

The robotic complex’s main difference is its social interface in the form of a humanoid robot cashier. Promobot uses the new Robo-C-2 droid model as the electronic vendor. Besides serving ice cream and drinks, the robot is capable of entertainment and educational interactive communication.

According to the developers, participating in Innovation Space at SPIEF will allow them to showcase the project and find potential partners and customers both in Russia and abroad.

Promobot was founded in 2015 in Perm. That same year, the company became a Skolkovo resident. It is currently the biggest manufacturer of autonomous service robots in Russia, Northern and Eastern Europe. Promobots work in 43 countries as administrators, promoters, consultants, guides and concierges. They can be found on the Moscow metro, in the Museum of Modern Russian History and at the Sberbank Pension Fund. The company manufactures and develops all its products in Russia.

Robin Hood Robotics was founded in 2022 in Perm by businessman Rashid Gabdullin and his son Timur Gabdullin. The company’s main focus is the development and promotion of robotic solutions for the entertainment industry.

Innovation Space is a Roscongress Foundation project that provides a platform for dialogue, debate and discussions with leading experts of trends in innovations and digital transformation. The project brings together representatives of the federal authorities, major tech businesses, investors, development corporations, accelerators, entrepreneurs, young start-uppers and innovators, mentors and media representatives. The Innovation Space project also aims to support and incentivize young scientists, inventors and developers, and create a generation of technological entrepreneurs in Russia.
