The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum traditionally becomes a discussion platform to review important strategic issues in various spheres and industries for major corporations, as well as for small and medium businesses. The Russian Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Forum will take place on 15 June, the starting day of SPIEF 2022. The organizers of the SME Forum are the Roscongress Foundation and OPORA RUSSIA. The business programme will include sessions covering key aspects of support and development of SMEs in Russia.
For example, the number of opportunities for representatives of small and medium-sized businesses is growing. SME Forum participants will be granted access to SPIEF 2022 for RUB 25,000 as determined by the SPIEF Organizing Committee. It will also allow them to participate in the opening and final days of the Forum.
SPIEF 2022 will take place in a completely new political and economic reality. The Forum will open up new opportunities for finding suppliers and sales markets. The main event of the SME Forum will be the plenary session entitled ‘New SME Strategy: Challenges, Opportunities, and Solutions’. During the session the speakers will discuss new growth points for small business development, SME support measures, sustenance of production and supply chains, and other issues.
“For the 7th year in a row the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum acts a point of attraction for open dialogue among representatives of SMEs. We consider it our duty to help in solving problems associated with the preservation and development of small and medium enterprises. We aim to increase the prestige of entrepreneurial initiatives, provide maximum access to government support programmes, and encouraging young people to become entrepreneurs, to run their own businesses. That's why representatives of the Organizing Committee decided to make it possible for representatives of small and medium-sized businesses to participate in the business programme of SPIEF 2022 during both the starting and the final days of the Forum”, said Advisor to the President of the Russian FederationAnton Kobyakov.
More than a dozen sessions covering the development of small and medium-sized businesses in the country will be held during the SME Forum: business protection, SME education, modern standards of small trade and consumer cooperation, artificial intelligence, opinion leaders of the new age, domestic tourism, manufacturing business, the development of the self-employed, and other topics.
A whole block of sessions will be devoted to new vectors of development of foreign economic activity and IT-solutions for SMEs, where participants will discuss necessary tools and mechanisms for effective international activities in the new economic conditions. They will also discuss effective IT-solutions to optimize and reduce costs for business respectively.
Additionally, the SME Forum will host an offsite meeting of the Social Entrepreneurship Working Group of the State Council on SMEs, which will discuss a wide range of issues from vectors for the development of social enterprises to creating new jobs for socially vulnerable populations.

Moreover, they will allow to find solutions that matter for small business and for the economy in general. That's why it is particularly important for businessmen to take part in the Forum and be direct participants in the open dialogue,” emphasized Alexander Kalinin, the President of OPORA RUSSIA.
