FoodAgroTech Innovation Start-Up Contest to Take Place in Run-Up to SPIEF 2022

Russian AgroTech and FoodTech start-ups engaged in promising developments are invited to take part in the FoodAgroTech innovation start-up contest. The winning teams will present their pitches at the dedicated session at SPIEF 2022.    

The Roscongress Foundation’s Business Priority innovative team starts accepting applications for the ‘10 Most Innovative FoodAgroTech Start-Ups’ contest. FoodTech and AgroTech manufacturers of innovative products and developers of advanced technologies and services can participate.

Projects from the following areas will be admitted to the contest: biodegradable packaging and novel food storage solutions, vertical farm design, ‘smart agriculture’ applications, alternative foods – meat, fish, seafoods, etc. – eco-friendly animal feeds, and others. 

The jury will include delegates from federal ministries, development institutions, and Russian innovative infrastructure centres.

The deadline for applications is 31 March 2022. The results of the contest will be announced at the special event of the 25th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (15–18 June 2022).

In previous years, the Business Priority platform selected innovation energy, health, environmental, educational, and pet industry start-ups. Relevant ministries, the Agency for Strategic Initiatives, Skolkovo Foundation, Roskachestvo, and other partners. Some contest winners scaled their businesses in Russia and expanded abroad demonstrating exponential growth.

This year, we are working on the most relevant and brightest FoodTech and AgroTech projects. The contest will feature alternative food products for humans and animals, digital applications for agriculture, and many other things. The participants of the 25th anniversary Forum will have a chance to see how the food of the future is made which will soon find its place to shop shelves,” says Director of Business Priority Margarita Skragan.

The partners of the contest are Voronezh Region, Krasnodar Territory, the Republic of Mordovia, Stavropol Region, the Skolkovo Foundation, Innopolis, and Roskachestvo.

“The main goal of Roskachestvo is to improve the lives of our citizens and make our national economy more competitive. We introduce the principles of effective and high-quality production of goods and services, we conduct surveys which help us provide our consumers with quality products. We’re hoping that the FoodAgroTech contest will help us find the most advanced and high-tech manufacturers whose products meet the highest expectations of today’s world,” noted Deputy Director of Roskachestvo Yulia Mikhaleva.
