The ‘Additive Manufacturing – Industrial Visionary of the Future’ International Research to Practice Conference will be taking place on 25–26 April along with an accompanying exhibition at Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University. The event is being organized by the Roscongress Foundation, Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, and Messe Düsseldorf Moscow. The Conference will be held as part of the Roscongress Foundation’s Innovation Space project and will kick off a series of events timed to coincide with the 25th Anniversary St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, which is scheduled for 15–18 June 2022.

The Conference will bring together representatives of federal authorities, major technology businesses, investors, development corporations, accelerators, entrepreneurs, youth start-ups and innovators, and media representatives. Together, they will be discussing the fourth industrial revolution, prospects for creating and applying innovative materials, the automation and standardization of production, training professional staff for Industry 4.0, and the features of the sixth technological revolution.

“The Innovation Space is an important Roscongress Foundation project that seeks to support young scientists, inventors, and companies whose technologies are changing the future. A specialized thematic platform operates at all of our major events, including, of course, the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The Innovation Space hosts interesting discussions, pitch sessions, and presentations of breakthrough technological solutions. It is important that we carry this work out on a systematic basis and not only at big forums. Our joint conference with SPbPU and Messe Düsseldorf Moscow is an excellent example of this,” Chairman of the Board and CEO of the Roscongress Foundation Alexander Stuglev said.

“We have come to an agreement with the Roscongress Foundation and Messe Düsseldorf Moscow to hold the International Conference on Additive Technologies at our university at the end of April. I am sure that the new event will be significant for the scientific community and industry,” Rector of Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University and RAS Academician Andrey Rudskoy said.

The Conference is also part of Messe Düsseldorf Moscow’s ADDITIVE MINDED project on additive technologies in industry. The initiative aims to streamline the industry of additive (innovative) technologies and related solutions from traditional technologies in the Russian Federation by joining forces and opportunities with the expert and user community, researchers, developers, and manufacturers and suppliers of equipment, software, and materials.

In 2019, an agreement was signed with Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, a competency leader in the field, for the development of the ADDITIVE MINDED project. A National Technological Initiative ‘New Manufacturing Technologies’ Center, Russia’s leading competence centre and largest project consortium, was established on the basis of the university’s innovation ecosystem. The first project implemented by SPbPU and Messe Düsseldorf Moscow on this topic was ‘The Ideal Product of Additive Manufacturing’ round table at INNOPROM in July 2021.
