The business programme of the Second Eurasian Women’s Forum, which will be held on 20–21 September 2018, has been published on the summit’s official website. Tavrichesky Palace will serve as the forum’s main venue. The Second Eurasian Women’s Forum is organised by the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and the Interparliamentary Assembly of the Member Nations of the Commonwealth of Independent States. The Roscongress Foundation will serve as the operator of the forum. A highlight of the summit will be the plenary session «Women for global security and sustainable development» chaired by Speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko. The programme for the Second Eurasian Women’s Forum features more than 40 events, including business sessions, panel discussions, business-dialogues, thematic business-breakfasts, and expert and strategic sessions. «The Forum programme reflects the current international and federal agenda and covers a large number of political, humanitarian, and economic subjects. The economic portion of the forum’s programme is well-represented. Large international organisations, including UNESCO, UNIDO, and the World Bank, took an active role in its preparation. Our country’s first Women20 session will be held on the side lines of the Forum. I hope that the forum will help the global women’s community answer pressing issues facing the world today, that we will be able to develop effective forms of international cooperation, expand the use of progressive instruments for supporting women’s businesses, share our experiences and best practices, allowing us to achieve greater success,» said Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council. The business programme’s discussions will be organised by theme into three sections: The section «Women for global security and sustainable development» will include four strategic sessions and an interparliamentary dialogue. The discussion will cover the trend of humanizing international relations, women’s contribution to solving pressing issues on the international agenda, the struggle for global security and stability, and legislative solutions for expanding women’s legal, economic and social opportunities. The section «Advancing the women’s agenda: international cooperation» will focus on questions of international cooperation, the role of international and regional organizations, as well as trends in the development of women’s entrepreneurship and philanthropy as a crucial factor in socio-economic development. The section «Global initiatives for women and new possibilities» will focus on women’s contributions to the creative industries, and the role of digitalisation in achieving equal opportunities. Participants will also discuss the role of public organisations in advancing women’s leadership. The Second Eurasian Women’s Forum will include special sessions by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), UNESCO, and the World Bank, as well as meetings of the Women20, the BRICS Women’s Business Club, an APEC seminar, and a presentation by the World Health Organisation. The organizers have taken the possibility of international business dialogues and thematic business breakfasts into account. The Forum will host meetings of Russian, French, German, Indian, and Chinese business circles. The Forum will also feature an exhibition of projects by women exporters called «Made in Russia: export by women,» presentations on success stories, a volunteering marathon, and a fashion show by female Russian designers.
