Rosneft Becomes General Partner of SPIEF Junior

4 June 2021
«Роснефть» стала генеральным партнером ПМЭФ Юниор

Rosneft Oil Company served as the general partner of the inaugural youth section at the 24th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF Junior). The event was attended by 200 schoolchildren from all over Russia and their peers from Qatar, the SPIEF guest country. The other partners of the event are the Innopraktika non-governmental development institute and Sirius educational centre.

Rosneft representatives took part in the central panel of the Forum, which is dedicated to new purposes and values in education. They noted that staff training is a key priority for the development of Rosneft’s business. Rosneft assembles its talent pool based on the school-university-enterprise system and acts as a responsible partner of the public education system. The company is launching Rosneft Classes in the regions where it operates with in-depth study of natural science subjects. As part of continuing education, joint research projects are being implemented with Innopraktika, the Moscow State University gymnasium, and Sirius educational centre.

Rosneft cooperates with 68 Russian and foreign higher educational institutions. At the company’s initiative, departments and master’s programmes have been set up at 26 partner universities in subjects that are in high demand among business: resource-saving technologies, petrochemistry, oil engineering, digitalization, IT security, offshore projects, and management strategies, among others. To implement its Vostok Oil locomotive project, Rosneft is setting up a unique Corporate Training Centre with a facility for practical training on the entire cycle of oil and gas production and after-sales service.

Rosneft promptly responds to global challenges. It launched a new master’s programme called ‘Genomics and Human Health’ in 2020 as part of a cooperation agreement between the company and Moscow State University, and the first group of masters is being trained.

The SPIEF Junior programme includes 25 business events that focus on collaboration between business and education and getting young people more involved in economic activity. More than 100 Russian and foreign speakers, including government officials and representatives of big business and leading universities, are taking part in the dialogue with schoolchildren on the sidelines of the Forum. The Forum was organized by the Content Foundation with the support of the Roscongress Foundation and the Big Change national competition.
