My Victory Hero service of the Roscongress Foundation’s website to tell the stories of veterans

8 May 2020
Сервис «Мой герой Победы» на сайте Фонда Росконгресс поможет рассказать историю ветеранов

Before the Victory Day, My Victory Hero service was launched on the Roscongress Foundation’s website that helps create posters with photographs and stories of veterans of the Great Patriotic War. This is the way the Foundation supports a good tradition: everyone can tell about their family members who fought at war, worked in hospitals and plants, were evacuated or stayed in occupied territories.

To use My Victory Hero service, follow the link, where you can upload veteran’s photo and write a short text about them. Then you can download the poster to your computer or smartphone in png, jpg and pdf formats.

We would be glad if you share the stories of veterans from your family on social networks (Facebook, Instagram, Vkontakte) adding #myvictoryhero #75yearsofvictory #roscongress hashtags.

The service is available as part of the Victorious Year special project by the Roscongress Foundation. Each day it presents the chronicle of landmark events of 1945, from the Berlin Strategic Offensive Operation, the last battle of the Great Patriotic War, to the beginning of the Nuremberg trials.

Also, as part of the Victory Day celebration, on 2–9 May the Roscongress Foundation is hosting an online marathon concert Songs of Victory featuring well-known theatre and movie actors, music bands, entertainers and anchors. Each participant sings songs about the war: these are famous lyrical ballads and marches, as well as legendary pieces from Soviet films.

Another initiative of the Roscongress Foundation is a new online portal Conferences of Victory (9may.roscongress.org) which contains information about the most important international diplomatic events of 1941–1945 attended by world leaders that greatly contributed to ending the largest military conflict in history. The project is supported by the Russian Military History Society. The information on the portal will be updated regularly.
