The COVID-19 pandemic moved social
processes online, which made preserving business and public security a priority
task. Group-IB founder spoke about major cyberthreats when working remotely.
«When business owners make a
decision to cut expenses on cybersecurity, they need to be aware of the
consequences. At trying times like these, when multiple measures are being
taken to save businesses, employees that are being let go may have malicious
intent and try to copy sensitive data. At times, those threats arise
involuntarily: working from a remote computer, an employee may not even be
aware of possible threats. For instance, when operating a router with dated
software, a user may not even notice the changes in the routing chart. This
makes a system susceptible to attacks,» Mr. Sachkov explained.
