2nd Anichkov Days Conference on Atherosclerosis of the International Atherosclerosis Society to be Held in Moscow

2nd Anichkov days/ IAS Conference on Atherosclerosis will be held in Moscow on September 17–19, 2020.

The presentation of Russia as a conference venue was held with the support of the Russian Convention Bureau as part of the next Congress of the European Atherosclerosis Society in the City of Maastricht, The Netherlands. More than 2,000 physicians and scientists attended the Congress, one of the leading events in the industry.

Anichkov Days Conference, which is expected to attract some 800 specialists in the area of atherosclerosis, will be held at Renaissance Hotel Monarch Moscow. The event will be organized by the international operator GUARANT International spol. s r.o. in cooperation with the Russian Atherosclerosis Society, represented by Professor M. V. Ezhov.

This will be the second time Russia will host this event. The first Anichkov days took place in 2016 in St. Petersburg, the city where renowned scientist, Academician
N. N. Anichkov, after whom the Conference of the International Atherosclerosis Society was named, once worked.

World-renowned scientists from all every continent of the world are expected to take part in the 2nd Anichkov days/IAS Conference on Atherosclerosis. At their plenary sessions the participants of the Conference will discuss the results of latest research, summarize the current state of knowledge in the field, talk about the main scientific principles in diagnostics, and its future. Other events will include professional discussions and specialized sessions that will allow young physicians and scientists to exchange their knowledge on the subject. The conference will also hold a series of events for Russian specialists in the field.

Alexey Kalachev, Director of the Russian Convention Bureau,
said: «According to ICCA (International Congress and Convention Association), more than 12,500 events are held annually worldwide, and most of these events are science congresses, fora and symposia. One of the key objectives of the RCB is to set the trend on increasing the number of science and medicine-themed events of international associations being held in this country. Results can be achieved by developing active interaction with the Russian science community and by using the entire range of solutions and tools, including partnerships with leading science institutions and development of the ambassador program.»
