В Екатеринбурге завершилось обучение волонтеров GMIS-2019

Stage two of training for the Global Manufacturing and Industrialisation Summit, which is set for 9–11 July in Yekaterinburg, wrapped up on 28 June.

Volunteer training included lectures on introductory and theoretical topics. Upon conclusion of the training, examinations were held that required applicants to demonstrate their knowledge of the Summit, the services to be provided to event participants, and proficiency in English.

The volunteer training that took place in Yekaterinburg was planned to include two stages. For the first stage, which took place 13–15 June, eighty participants underwent training, with another hundred and forty taking exams upon conclusion of the second stage, which ran from 26 to 28 June. In addition, volunteers from Chelyabinsk, Moscow, and St. Petersburg who have expressed a desire to take part in a major international event will be selected on a competitive basis.

Applicants who have successfully passed the exam will be assigned to particular functional areas. GMIS volunteers will work in units focusing on Accreditation, Conference Services, Information, Food, Transportation Services, Access Control, and Media Relations.

Participation in the event is voluntary. One attraction of the opportunity lies in the fact that students volunteering in the Summit can receive credit for their participation. In addition, they receive the experience that comes with being a part of a large business event, of communicating with Russian and foreign Summit participants, and the opportunity to practice their foreign language skills.
