The Roscongress Foundation and the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI) agreed on cooperation. The document was signed by Alexander Stuglev, Chairman of the Board and CEO of the Roscongress Foundation, and U Aung Kyi Soe, Secretary General of UMFCCI.
The document provides for cooperation between the organizations in order to facilitate the development of trade and economic relations between Russia and Myanmar. In particular, the parties plan to work out a practical foundation for strengthening business relationships; coordinate each other’s efforts to create and develop a business network that would help disseminate information on business opportunities in both countries; cooperate for organization of congress and exhibition events, including sharing of expert knowledge and discussion of economic issues. They also plan to exchange economic statistics, publications, law and regulation wordings regarding economic and trade activities of business communities.

I am convinced that the signed agreement will open a new chapter of close interaction between the business structures of Russia and Myanmar. I am sure that in the upcoming years we will be able to create and develop new mutually beneficial opportunities for business communities of our countries,» noted U Aung Kyi Soe, Secretary General of UMFCCI.
«There is a potential for cooperation development between the two countries. In the Soviet times we had close trade relations with Myanmar. I think that the agreement will help strengthen relationships between entrepreneurs from both countries; primarily, direct contacts in order to stimulate direct trade between Russian and Myanmar businesses rather than via third countries,» Alexander Stuglev emphasized.
