The
prize hopes to bolster support for social projects aimed at helping those in
need and improving their quality of life. Total grant funding amounts to RUB 90
million. The Roscongress Foundation has come forward to act as partner for the
prize.
Applications are being accepted across nine different
categories. The prize is open to non-profit organizations, businesses, and
volunteers helping those who are most vulnerable, improving the urban
environment, developing the tourist industry, producing socially important
media products, engaging in youth awareness and education, developing
athletics, and implementing systematic long-term social programmes among other
things. Prizes will also be awarded in three special categories: Person of the
Year, Volunteer of the Year, and Partnership of the Year.
Prize winners will receive grants of up to RUB 3.5
million. Organisers will publicise the winning projects on the DOBRO.RU platform, across their social
networks, and in the groups of the prize’s partners. Winners and runners-up
will take part in a special educational programme next year and receive
invitations to major forums. For example, the winners of the Business track
will be given an opportunity to take part in the International Youth Economic
Forum as part of the key Russian discussion platform, the St. Petersburg
International Economic Forum.
In addition to winning the federal prize, more than
4,000 initiatives will be eligible to win regional prizes, running from 27 June
to 31 July. This will include having participants defend their initiatives in
person in their regions. The best projects will receive support from the
constituent entity, and their creators will receive prizes from governors and other
top regional officials, media support, and so much more.
