Forest resources Woods are one of Republic’s natural resources which cover one third of the territory, mainly, along the rivers Sura and Zavolgie. The Chuvash Republic’s woods consists of highland oak forests, mixed forests and coniferous forests.
Water resources Water sources are taken from the rivers Volga, Sura, and Tsivil; and also from four hundred lakes spread across the Chuvash territory.
