Jewish Autonomous Region to Present Biomedical Cluster and Mining Industry Projects at ‘Far East Street’ Exhibition

The Jewish Autonomous Region will present an exposition at the ‘Far East Street’ exhibition, which will take place on 2–7 September in Vladivostok as part of the 6th Eastern Economic Forum.

“The first railway bridge between Russia and China, Nizhneleninskoye-Tongjiang, will start operating in the Jewish Autonomous Region. A booming transport, logistics, and production complex may appear here. This will provide an economic incentive to develop the region and the entire Far East, and will create a wide range of jobs: both for workers and for highly qualified specialists, such as engineers, programmers, and logistics experts. The region’s pavilion will present this and other projects. Guests and participants of the Eastern Economic Forum will have an opportunity to learn about the [region’s] economic potential, cultural peculiarities, and natural resources,” said Yury Trutnev, Russian Deputy Prime Minister and Plenipotentiary Envoy of the Russian President in the Far Eastern Federal District.

The Jewish Autonomous Region’s pavilion will present information about investment projects in the region. In particular, visitors will learn about the establishment of a biomedical cluster, the VTK Invest high-tech timber industry enterprise, a mining enterprise to produce iron ore at the Kimkansky and Sutarsky deposits of ferruginous quartzite, the first bridge between Russia and China, Nizhneleninskoye-Tongjiang, and other projects.

“The Jewish Autonomous Region has vast potential in various fields: industry, culture, and tourism. We will present all these opportunities at the Eastern Economic Forum venue. The guests of our pavilion will be able to learn more about opportunities in the region. Along with investment projects that have already proven themselves, ones that are just starting to be implemented will also be presented. Each guest will have a chance to get to know more about the original Jewish culture and our sporting achievements. We have a lot to be proud of and something to show off at the EEF venue,” Jewish Autonomous Region Governor Rostislav Goldshtein said.

The region will also showcase its tourism potential with presentations of the Kuldur health resort complex, the 100th anniversary of the Volochaevskaya Hill, and the Jewish Town.

The cultural programme will feature performances by the Jewish song ensemble Ilanot, a folk ensemble of violinists, a duet by the cover group Holiday Pro and other artists. Sports fans will be able to watch demonstrations in the full-contact martial art Kyokushin featuring Russian Master of Sport Yevgeny Bashkirov at the pavilion site, and do Qigong exercises.

In addition, the region’s exposition will include a summer outdoor cafe with regional cuisine.

The ‘Far East Street’ exhibition will be open to EEF 2021 participants on 2–4 September and residents and guests of Vladivostok on 5–6 September. A social day will take place on 7 September.

The exhibition is being is organized by the Roscongress Foundation with the support of the Office of the Plenipotentiary Envoy of the Russian President to the Far Eastern Federal District.
