В Омске состоится XVI Межрегиональный форум сотрудничества России и Казахстана

The 16th Russia-Kazakhstan Interregional Cooperation Forum will be held in Omsk in November. The Forum is being organized by the Russian Ministry of Economic Development and the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan with the support of the Roscongress Foundation.

«Holding interregional events provides a strong impetus not only for the development of the regions but of entire sectors of the economy both in Russia and Kazakhstan. In addition, they allow for actively promoting integration processes within the Eurasian Economic Community. I believe that today interregional forums have great potential that is needed and is essential to utilize for the development of international interregional relations», Adviser to the Russian President Anton Kobyakov said.

«The Omsk Region has already begun actively preparing to hold the Russia-Kazakhstan Cooperation Forum on its territory. A working group has been created, a range of measures are being implemented to prepare urban infrastructure, and an examination of potential venues for the event has been carried out», Omsk Region Governor Alexander Burkov said.

In 2018, the Forum was held in Petropavlovsk, Kazakhstan and attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin and former Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev. More than 500 delegates attended the Forum, including 250 representatives of Russian ministries and departments, delegations from 22 regions of the Russian Federation, including 14 regional governors, as well as the CEOs of major companies.
