Global Growth Energy is the Key Topic of Russian Energy Week

The Organizing Committee of the “Russian Energy Week” (REW) International Forum on energy saving and power industry development has held a meeting in Moscow. Global growth energy is the key topic of the Russian Energy Week; it will be explored in depth during discussions on the two main areas of the business programme:

  • “Global Power Industry: Challenges and Sustainable Development”

This area will consist of panel discussions on the topics of international technological cooperation, security and sustainable development of the FEC sectors, and the prospects for the global market for energy sources.

  • “Implementing the sectoral potential of the energy complex”

This area covers the key economic sectors connected with producing, processing, and transporting fuel and power resources.

Alexander Novak, Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the Organizing Committee, made a special note that the Week would include such events as a Ministerial Meeting of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF), a mayoral meeting on energy efficiency and sustainable development, the awards ceremony of the All-Russia Media FEC competition held among media, press services of FEC companies and regional administrations; the St Petersburg Gas Forum will also be held in St Petersburg on 3–6 October.

Anton Kobyakov, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation, said that “Holding REW regularly promotes top-level coordination of efforts in energy saving and energy efficiency and helps find solutions to the current global challenges. “More than 8,000 representatives from the government authorities, leading scientists and experts from Russia and other countries, and about 1,000 media representatives will take part in the Forum”, Kobyakov said.
