The Third Global Fishery Forum & Seafood Expo (2019) will take place on 1011 July 2019 in St. Petersburg, according to the Organizing Committee of this, the industrys main event.
This means that, during the coming season, Russia will welcome Forum participants on the eve of its national Fishermans Day, observed on the second Sunday in July. As previously, the event will take place at the Expoforum Convention and Exhibition Centre.
In 2017 and 2018, the Global Fishery Forum & Seafood Expo was held in September. The keynote of the first forum was «A global view of fishing in the World Ocean: cooperation or competition?», while the second one focused on «Global fishing activities 2050: Resources, markets, technologies.» The topic for the third forum is still being discussed.
More that 1,100 Forum delegates and over 3,000 Expo exhibitors and visitors took part in the 2018 events. Participants from 42 countries attended the Forum, including from Norway, Germany, Iceland, Mauritania, Morocco, China, South Korea, the United States and Japan. The Expos area expanded from 8,000 to 13,000 square metres, while the share of international participants rose by 250%. More than 150 Russian and foreign journalists were accredited to the event.
The Forum & Seafood Expo is organized by the Federal Agency for Fishery, and the Forum is operated by Roscongress Foundation.
