Russian Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidium of the Russian National Committee of the World Energy Council (WEC Russia) Alexander Novak chaired a meeting in Moscow on preparations for the 25th World Energy Congress, which will take place in St. Petersburg on 24–27 October 2022.
The meeting addressed organizational issues related to preparations for the 25th World Energy Congress, including reports on invitations to foreign leaders to attend the WEC 2022 and preparing St. Petersburg to host the Congress. Special attention was devoted to the preparation of the event’s business programme and the activities of the WEC Russia for its preparation.
«We are in the active stage of preparing for the Congress. We are conducting a detailed review of the business programme, which should cover key areas of the modern energy agenda. With the participation of representatives of countries that both produce and consume energy resources as well as major energy companies, we expect to comprehensively discuss the current situation in the global energy sector, share forecasts, and develop joint solutions that will help ensure the world’s energy security and ensure a balance of interests of all states,» Alexander Novak said.
«The Organizing Committee and all the working groups are continuing planned work to prepare for the landmark anniversary of the World Energy Congress. St. Petersburg is preparing to host the event at its traditionally high level. The participants will come together on a modern platform, which has repeatedly hosted the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum and other major international forums and conferences. I am certain that the Congress will leave the best impression on representatives of the global energy community and guests from all over the world,» Adviser to the Russian President and Executive Secretary of the World Energy Congress 2022 Organizing Committee Anton Kobyakov said.
The 25th World Energy Congress, which is dedicated to the centenary of the World Energy Council, will take place in St. Petersburg on 24–27 October 2022. The Organizing Committee is scheduled to hold its next meeting on 17 March 2022.
