RC-Sport to Take Part in Baikal Mile 2022 Grand Tour

16 February 2022
РК-Спорт примет участие в Гранд-Туре «Байкальская миля-2022»

A press breakfast took place in Moscow today to mark the launch of the Baikal Mile 2022 Grand Tour. The breakfast was attended by the organizers of the sporting event, which is being supported by RC-Sport, the sports platform of the Roscongress Foundation

On 16 February, Balzi Rossi Restaurant hosted a press breakfast dedicated to the start of the ‘Baikal Mile 2022. Places of Power’ Grand Tour. Rutube and Russian Radio are the media partners of the event. Guests included representatives of Gazprom-Media, the organizers, partners, and participants of Baikal Mile 2022, bloggers, and journalists.

The main idea of the Baikal Mile project is to see and show Russia through the roads that lead to Baikal.

The route from different parts of the country to the legendary lake will allow the Grand Tour teams to complete several creative tasks dedicated to the cultural and historical heritage of Russia’s regions as well tasks related to environmental, geographical, and patriotic education. The event is being supported by RC-Sport, the sports platform of the Roscongress Foundation, as well as the title partner, FSK Group, one of Russia’s largest developers.

Rutube, a national video hosting service, is sending three bloggers along the Baikal Mile routes who will blog about the beauties of Russia, its ecology, interesting cities, and picturesque areas. In addition, Rutube will share what is happening at the Baikal Mile Ice Speed Festival with diary entries about the event.

Alexander Moiseyev, Deputy General Director of Gazprom-Media:

“Today, Rutube is the most powerful tool for users and bloggers. As of the end of December, the number of unique users actively watching videos on the platform had increased to 17.7 million per month. Moreover, the total number of Rutube visitors has exceeded 30 million per month.

“Rutube’s content strategy includes the production of a large volume of original shows and the development of new focuses, including auto and motorcycle [sports]. In this context, the Baikal Mile is a strategically important event for us. After all where, if not here, can we expand our coverage of the category and tell the country about this large community.”

Sergey Maltsev and Dmitry Khitrov, the organizers of the Baikal Mile Ice Speed Festival:

“The press breakfast we had is the final point in the large-scale planning of the Baikal Mile Ice Speed Festival and the ‘Baikal Mile Grand Tour 2022. Places of Power’. Today, we told all our media partners, press representatives, and bloggers about what exactly we will see this year both during the Grand Tour and at the Festival itself. This is a very important point because we believe it is crucial to broadcast information about our events to the widest possible audience. Representatives of the auto and motorcycle communities are already very familiar with our Festival, and people who are not so closely connected with the industry should also learn about what we and our participants are doing.”

Maxim Vasilyev, winner of the Grand Tour 2021, holder of the Russian ice speed record, winner of the All-Russian Aquabike Competitions, and captain of the RC-Sport team in 2022:

“This marks the second time that I have set myself a colossal challenge – to quickly, confidently, and safely traverse more than 6,000 kilometres and complete special tasks prepared by the organizers of the Baikal Mile. I’d like to emphasize that we are not repeating the route of our multi-kilometre trip. Each time the organizers invite the Baikal Mile participants to visit new and interesting places. This year (I hope I’m not giving away all the secrets of the organizers and logistical tasks from Velgutscustom) the teams will visit the centres of folk art crafts. And of course, I expect to win a confident victory with my RC-Sport team. Is that bold? Yes! But I’m certain that is precisely the attitude that the crews should set off with on the ‘Baikal Mile 2022. Places of Power’ Grand Tour.”

Teams will set off from four cities: from St. Petersburg on 19 February, from Moscow on 20 February, from Kazan on 25 February, and from Vladivostok on 1 March. You can follow all the latest news of the RC-Sport team on the Rutube platform rutube.ru/channel/23803379/about/.
